Cookie policy

Clear information about essential, functional and optional technologies used on the VIHC website.

Version 1.0 · Last reviewed: 28 July 2026

1. About this policy

This policy explains the cookies, local browser storage and external functionality used by the VIHC website. It should be read with the Privacy Policy.

2. What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small text records stored by a browser. Local storage is a similar browser facility used to remember settings. They do not run programs on your device. Some are necessary for a requested service; others require a choice.

3. Categories used by VIHC

EssentialAlways active

Supports administrator sessions, security validation and storage of your cookie preference.

FunctionalOptional

Remembers language preferences and enables the requested live translation service.

AnalyticsCurrently inactive

Would help measure aggregated website use. No analytics service is configured in this version.

MarketingCurrently inactive

Would support advertising or behavioural profiling. VIHC does not currently use marketing cookies.

4. Current website records

  • vihc_cookie_consent: local storage record of the categories you selected; retained until cleared or changed.
  • vihc_language: first-party preference cookie remembering the selected language for up to 12 months.
  • PHP session cookie: essential temporary cookie used for authenticated website administration.
  • Google Translate records: may be created only after functional consent or when you expressly request translation.

5. External translation service

When functional cookies are allowed or a non-English language is selected, the website may load Google Translate. Google may receive technical request information and place its own preference records. Human-approved VIHC translation overrides are applied before the automated fallback.

6. Managing preferences

You may accept functional services, keep essential storage only, or customise categories. Reopen this panel at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer. Withdrawing functional consent prevents future optional loading but does not remove records already placed by an external service; use browser controls to remove those records.

7. Browser controls

Most browsers allow you to view, block or delete cookies and site data. Blocking all storage may prevent sign-in, saved preferences or language features from working correctly.

8. Changes

If analytics, embedded media or new external services are introduced, VIHC should update this policy and obtain the appropriate preference before activating them.
